I worked with him to draw out more customer centric relationships. Some representatives state that this time is needed on administrative tasks but when I conducted mystery shopping I found one representative reading the Wall Street Journal and clipping “prospect names” from articles and dumping them into his “prospect box”. He had little time to enter this pertinent information into a database.
Working with him on three issues on three specific issues:
1. Talent Assessment – do they have the right people
2. Customer Knowledge – How much representatives know about customer issues.
3. Sales Knowledge – ability to create relationships that develop wants and needs to close sales.
